3a Communicating with Students
Bulletin Board Resources
This is the bulletin board that is at the entrance of the gym. Every time a student enters the gym they are able to look at this board. On the first day of school I went over the rules, standards, and expectations of my classroom with this bulletin board. It displays the elementary PE standards, the proper shoes, and rules of the gym. With the dory themed board it speaks to the age group and ultimately communicating my expectations of my classroom to my students.
3b Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques
This poster is to show, label, and discuss our bone of the week. Starting with the skull and working our way down to the toes, each class is learning the bones and fun facts about them. Each week we go over a new bone and their scientific name for them. The kids find it interesting learning the different names of the bone and what each bone is responsible. This is a great discussion topic that we go over during our "huddle" with our other terms of the week. This also sparks questions for the students which increases my student participation. This helps me show my health education focus.
3e Demonstrating Flexibility and Responsiveness
Vocabulary Relay (Grade Level Spelling Words)
This lesson was one of my favorite lesson that I have planned. For this lesson plan I worked with all the grade level teachers and collected each grade levels spelling words for the week that I planned the vocabulary relay. This was used for grades 1-3. I made adjustments for each grade level with first grade having words that included run, nut, fun, and one. Second grade having words that included nighttime, delighted, and grumbled. Finally, third grade had words like sore, shore, and oars. I wanted each grade level to be working with the words that they would be tested on later that week. Though this lesson students will be running back and forth sticking the terms on the black boards, writing the words on the white boards, and searching in the bucks for the word that I would call out.
With my preschool and Kindergarten classes I made adjustments with their lesson plans with them working with color shapes and color recognition. This helped them visually identifying the color, auditorily hearing the words, and kinetically moving the colors. This adjustment to their lesson plan seemed very beneficial to their population.
